‘Clean and green is our perfect dream’
The slogan itself showcases that our dear planet Earth deserves better than plastic litter. To spread the awareness about what our Earth is losing and how we can heal the world and make it a better place to live in, St. Karen’s Collegiate School celebrated the Earth Day Special Assembly with great pomp and show.
The assembly began with a speech that reminded the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals. The students of std- 3,4and 5 presented a beautiful action song through which they portrayed the steps to take care of our Mother Earth. The nukkad natak presented by the students was an eye opener to create awareness among the students and bring a positive change in the society. The show stopper of the programme was a soulful skit which covered the major issues such as excess use of plastic, depletion of the Earth and pollution. The mesmerizing dance performance on the song Heal the World took the program to another level.
The Assembly ended with a pledge to encourage our students to take small steps towards conserving the planet Earth.
In addition to the special assembly, a poster making event on SDG 15 LIFE ON LAND was organised for the students of Std 6 & 7 followed by a Green Walk to raise awareness among the local street vendors about the harmful impact of using plastic bags or single use plastic. The classes with the highest number of posters were given Green Stars as a token of appreciation for their efforts. Std 8 to 10 students had a bulletin board decoration ideas to inculcate a sense of responsibility through integrated learning, creativity and innovation.
