Description: A group counselling session was conducted to guide students in identifying their personal strengths and weaknesses, and to understand how these factors relate to external opportunities and threats. The concept of SWOT analysis was introduced as a practical tool for self-assessment and strategic planning. The session aimed to empower students with a better understanding of themselves, which would ultimately assist them in academic and personal growth. The students were divided into group which were further divided into smaller, mixed-grade sub-groups to encourage peer interaction and open communication. Students were asked to reflect on their skills, talents, positive personality traits, and areas where they excel. Even though the initial responses were centred around academic subjects (e.g., "good at math," "science is my favourite subject") with further probing, the students identified a wider range of strengths, including interpersonal, creative, organisational and personal strengths. Students were sensitized that weaknesses are areas for improvement, not reasons for self-criticism. A facilitated discussion helped students understand how their strengths can be used to overcome weaknesses and capitalize on opportunities. The concept of converting a "threat" into an "opportunity" was also explored. The session concluded with an individual action planning exercise. Each student was encouraged to write down one strength they would leverage, one weakness they would work on, one opportunity they would seize, and one threat they would mitigate in the coming weeks. The group counselling session was highly successful. The SWOT analysis proved to be an effective, non-threatening method for self-discovery. Students were engaged, open, and supportive of one another. The interactive format allowed for a safe space where students could share their vulnerabilities and celebrate their unique abilities.
