Description:
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is an annual festival observed on 14th April to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Indian polymath and civil rights activist. This day marks the birthday of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar who was born on 14th April 1891. To honour his legacy, this year, St.Karen’s Collegiate School marked his 134th birthday, with a special assembly on April 15, 2024.
The programme started with speeches where students vocalized his life chronicle and contribution towards the upliftment of lower caste people followed by a musical skit. The school choir paid its rendition to Dr. Ambedkar through a Marathi song, ‘Bhimala Manto’ glorifying his efforts to bring a radical change In the society.
At the culmination of the event the School Coordinator, Angela Ma’am told the students to follow the ideals of Bhim Rao Ambedkar and contribute to create a society which is free from social stigma.
